Fair Grove Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes

September 1, 2026

Meeting Called to Order: 12:04 PM

The September meeting of the Fair Grove Chamber of Commerce was called to order at 12:04 PM.

Lunch Appreciation

The Chamber expressed its appreciation to O’Bannon Bank for providing lunch for today’s meeting. Thank you for your continued support of the Fair Grove Chamber and our local business community!

Scholarship Update

The Chamber recognized Leila Huff as the recipient of the remaining Chamber scholarship.

Leila plans to attend Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) to study Business Administration and Marketing. She also has plans to potentially continue her education at College of the Ozarks.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

A motion was made to approve the minutes from the previous month’s meeting. The motion passed.

President’s Report

The President provided several committee and Chamber updates:

• The Chamber is seeking three volunteers to serve on the Nominating Committee.
• The Bylaws Committee has been formed.
• The Business Development Committee is currently being formed. Members interested in serving on this committee are encouraged to reach out to Rick.
• The Exco Committee will be putting together goodie bags. Chamber members are asked to provide promotional business items to be included in the bags.
• The completed goodie bags will be distributed by the City.
• The October Chamber meeting will be held at the Senior Center.
• The Chamber welcomed a new member last week and looks forward to meeting them at a future Chamber meeting.

Treasurer’s Report

The current Chamber balance was reported as $21,633.12.

Guest Speaker

The Chamber welcomed Marilyn Smith as the guest speaker.

Marilyn shared information about the early beginnings of the Fair Grove Festival and discussed how the event has evolved over the years into the Heritage Reunion that the community celebrates today.

Her presentation provided an interesting look at the history and traditions that have helped shape this important Fair Grove community event.

Member Announcements

Members shared the following community announcements:

• The Fair Grove Senior Center will hold an Indoor Garage Sale on October 17.
• The Fair Grove Historical Society is still seeking volunteers for the festival taking place September 26–27. Members are encouraged to volunteer and help support this important community event.

Adjournment

The Chamber again expressed its appreciation to O’Bannon Bank for providing lunch.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed, and the meeting was adjourned.
