Fair Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes
July 7, 2026
The Fair Grove Area Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to order at 12:03 p.m.
Lunch Sponsor
Lunch was generously provided by Tammie Tucker of AR Wilson Realtors. The Chamber extends its sincere appreciation to Tammie for sponsoring today’s meal.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved following a motion and second. The motion carried.
Member Spotlight
This month’s Member Spotlight featured Lisa Ritter, owner of Festoons & Filigree. Lisa shared exciting updates about the opening of her new business, The In Between Mercantile, on Main Street. Their grand opening is taking place this weekend. Tom Littledyke highlighted the continued growth and expansion of Fox and Owl, noting the increasing excitement and activity throughout downtown Fair Grove.
Scholarship Presentation
The Chamber recognized Shayla Haddock, one of this year’s two Chamber scholarship recipients. Shayla was presented with a $1,000 scholarship during the meeting. She plans to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. Congratulations, Shayla!
Featured Speaker
The featured speaker was Charlie Holt of the American Legion Post 38.
Charlie shared information about the American Legion and its four pillars of service. Fair Grove’s Post 38 was established in 1942 and has welcomed numerous national presidents and other distinguished visitors over the past four years.
Each year, approximately 400 American flags are placed at veterans’ graves by members of the local post. Charlie also shared that Post 38 members have collectively contributed 4,792 volunteer hours over the past year. The Chamber appreciates the American Legion’s ongoing support of both the Chamber and the Fair Grove community.
President’s Report
- The June meeting generated many great ideas for the Chamber.
- The By-Laws Committee has officially been formed.
- The October Chamber meeting will once again be held at the Fair Grove Senior Center. The Chamber appreciates their hospitality.
Vice President’s Report
- Chamber membership remains open.
- Advertising opportunities are still available in the Chamber’s digital community booklet.
Treasurer’s Report
Current Chamber balance: $23,111.05
Scholarship checks have been issued, and advertising space has been purchased in the Heritage Reunion booklet.
Historical Society Report
The 50th Annual Ice Cream Social will be held on July 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s celebration will include special activities commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States, along with food trucks, live music, a car show, and an evening fireworks display.
The Historical Society is currently seeking volunteers to help with the festival.
Closing
The Chamber again thanked Tammie Tucker of AR Wilson Realtors for providing lunch.
A motion to adjourn was made, seconded, and approved.
