Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 12:03 PM.
Welcome & Lunch Sponsor
Thanks were extended to Central Bank for providing lunch for today’s meeting.
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
A motion to approve the meeting minutes was made by Mary Terry and seconded by Charlie Holt.
Motion carried.
Featured Speaker
Angela Hollingsworth, representing Care to Learn, was the featured speaker.
Care to Learn is founded on the belief that children cannot learn and grow unless their basic needs are met. Established in 2007 by Doug Pitt, the organization works to fill gaps by providing food and essential support to children. To date, Care to Learn has helped meet over 3 million needs, with 100% of donated funds going directly to children. Angela shared several examples of how Care to Learn has supported children within our local community.
Member Spotlight
Tammie Tucker was recognized in the Member Spotlight.
Tammie grew up in Fair Grove, and her family continues to live in the area. She began working with her father in 1983 and has been in real estate since then. She shared her passion for helping people achieve their homeownership dreams.
President’s Report

The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 28th at 1:00 PM at the historic Wommack Mill.

A Scholarship Committee will be assembled next month.

Memberships are open.

Businesses interested in being featured at a meeting are encouraged to sign up or refer someone who would like to speak.

A lunch sponsorship sign-up sheet is available for those interested in sponsoring future meetings.
Treasurer’s Report
The budget was emailed to members prior to the meeting. Appreciation was expressed for the many silent auction donations received. Increasing membership was discussed as a way to continue supporting community events.
Lauren reviewed the budget with attendees.

Motion to approve the budget was made by Tammie Tucker and seconded by Justin Loveday.

Member Announcements

Charlie Holt (American Legion) shared plans to create a time capsule to be opened in 25 years. The post has been approved as an official voter registration location. The Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast will be held on the second Saturday of each month, beginning February 14th, from 7:00–10:00 AM.

Fox and Owl is now open in the old 4D’s building. They are working to grow and expand their business into a restaurant and brewery. All are invited to check them out.

The Senior Center has been open for 7 years and is seeking an individual or business to sponsor lunches for their upcoming anniversary.

Kelly Petty, representing the City of Fair Grove, shared that the city has created an event-hosting checklist to help ensure events are safe and successful.

The Fair Grove Historical Society is planning its Ice Cream Social and Festival, with workdays beginning again in March.

Franklin Hodges brought candy to share with the group and offered to donate candy for the Easter Egg Hunt.
