Fair Grove Area Chamber of Commerce
Board & Membership Meeting Minutes
Date: August 4, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: Fair Grove Fire Protection District Community Room
The meeting was called to order, followed by the prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Lunch was generously provided by Fair Grove United Methodist Church.
Members and guests introduced themselves.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the previous meeting were presented and approved.
Approval of Agenda
The meeting agenda was presented and approved.
Business Spotlight
Kristen from Elevation Studio shared information about the studio and the opportunities it provides for students and families in the Fair Grove community.
Featured Speaker
Christian Overstreet provided an update on behalf of the Fair Grove School District, sharing information about current school initiatives and upcoming activities.
President’s Report
The President reported that work is continuing to coordinate presentation of the Chamber scholarship.
Vice President’s Report
The Chamber welcomed two new members:
- CMH
- Blake Lewis Septic & Lawn Care
Plans are underway to prepare Chamber swag bags for November.
Members were reminded that Chamber membership is open year-round and that the Chamber’s digital membership booklet is available to prospective members at any time.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer reported a current Chamber balance of $22,008.12.
Community & Organization Updates
American Legion
- Shared information about the recent Ice Cream Social.
- Provided an update on the proposed Veterans Memorial project.
- The project aims to raise between $75,000 and $100,000 to begin construction through grants, donations, and fundraising efforts.
- The Park Board has committed to donating the land and providing electrical service for the memorial site.
- Members were invited to attend the American Legion breakfast this Saturday.
- Informational handouts were distributed.
Senior Center
- Announced a Senior Information Day to be held on September 4 in Marshfield.
Fair Grove Historical Society
- Reported that the next meeting will be especially important and encouraged members to attend.
- Shared that the historical booklets continue to be well received.
- Announced a generous $10,000 donation from O’Bannon Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank to support projects at Wommack Mill.
- Volunteers continue to be needed for ongoing preservation projects.
Upcoming Meeting
The September Chamber meeting will be a work day at Wommack Mill. Members are encouraged to wear work clothes and come ready to volunteer.
